Beep beep whiiiiiiiiir TOKA TOKA TOKA i felt the ground slipping away from my feet,I got nervous. “Welcome to volcanic air said the pilot” “If you look out to your left you will see Mt Tarawera” “and if you look out to your right you will see mokoia island”. As the helicopter flew across the water i got butterflies in my stomach. We came into land on the waterfront and people were waving at us so we waved back. When we were 100 meters from the landing pad i held onto the handrail.
Touchdown. The pilot came around and opened up our doors. As I stepped out of the helicopter I was very cautious that I didn't get my head chopped off by the spinning blades, one last thank you to the pilot and we were on our way back home to Gisborne.
